Here are some pictures from my day trip to Oxford. Overall, I really loved it and definitely understand the hype surrounding this picturesque town! I took a train around 9am from Marylebone Station right near my dorm and was in Oxford in less than 90 minutes. My friends joined me in the afternoon so in the morning I just walked around. There's a huge shopping center nearby that I explored and then meandered around Trinity College. After I went to the Oxford Botanic Gardens (a separate post on that to come!). Around 1pm, I met my friends for lunch. We had tea and scones because we are ~British~ now. That afternoon we went to the top of St. Mary the Virgin church where we had the most spectacular view of Oxford for only a couple pounds and a claustrophobic trek up very narrow stairs. Then we went to Christ Church that was featured in Harry Potter films. It's a huge, peaceful complex. The last thing we saw was actually the BEST (best for last and we didn't even know it...): The Bodleian Library: one of the world's oldest libraries! We went on a guided tour where sadly no pictures were allowed but it was absolutely fascinating. They have every book, newspaper, restaurant menu, etc ever published in the UK. Interestingly, they don't lend out any books- not even to royalty. As you can imagine the library was filled with many famous, valuable and incredibly old books too!
